Printmaking papers and more paint skins.

There is a raggedy paint skin that I've included. I made several pairs of earrings from it so it's very"tired".  I've cut out the best sections so I think it's ready to be tossed. Take a look.

Good bye

Below are just a couple that I've made.

Similar, but different

Today I'm creating jewelry from my printmaking papers.  I love printmaking. You never know what you'll get. The good ones I'm using today, the rest are in a box labeled "works in progress''  Like me.

The  colors are dark brown, white, and a pale beigey blue background. These would look great with denim!  The earrings below are similar, but the shape is different.

The size, from top to bottom is about 1 1/2", not including ear wires.  Not sure if you can tell that all the earrings have a gentle curve. This adds a graceful look. All earrings have vintage French correspondence on the back. Very cool.

Well, I'm off to make some jewelry. Hope to hear from you...would love to hear suggestions, etc.

Dolly

Poured Painting & Paint Skins

I want to show you a couple of examples of poured paintings and paint skins and the earrings that evolved.

The skins are fragile and have to be peeled of the parchment paper carefully. Then I look for areas that would look just right. The black and white skin shown below, has had a few areas cut out for earrings.

I made several pair in different sizes and shapes and I will add them to my blog. What I love is that no two are alike and they weigh practically nothing which is a plus when you want to wear larger earrings.

Love these earrings!   I think they turned out really nice and as I mentioned above, they weigh practically zero. By the way, for those who have problems when wearing earrings, I'm using stainless steel ear wires. More on that subject in my next post.

Here is one of my poured paintings. It's on a 5 x 7 stretched canvas. I love it! It's quite organic looking, I think. In fact, I'm going to my studio, also known as the basement, 😊,
after my coffee, to do another.

Next time, I will show you the earrings made from my printmaking papers.

Soon,
Dolly
